About the Owner
Jay Gubrud grew up around the trade. His father, Jerry Gubrud, was an electrician, and Jay spent his childhood tagging along on jobs, helping where he could, including crawling through attics and subfloor spaces. Some of his earliest experiences were working alongside his dad at the Sisters of Mercy women’s shelters, doing repairs and maintenance. He learned the technical side of the work early, but what those years really gave him was a clear sense of what it means to show up for people who need help.
After high school, Jay joined the local electrical union and completed the apprenticeship program, gaining hands-on experience on projects throughout Northern California. In 1994, he passed the State of California Electrical Contractors exam and earned his C-10 license. The following year, he launched Gubrud’s Electrical Services with a straightforward vision: build a company known for craftsmanship, professionalism, and genuinely treating customers like family.
Today, Gubruds specializes in full home electrical service, including panel upgrades, EV charger installations, generators, whole-home surge protection, rewires, lighting upgrades, troubleshooting and diagnostics, safety inspections, and energy-efficient system upgrades.
